The study of SOSE aims to develop each child's understanding of how human beings interact with each other and with the environment. The study of SOSE in Years 5-7 is based upon the Qld Year 1-10 SOSE Syllabus.

The basic goals of this programme are:
· To develop the child's understanding of his role in his community and how he, as a member of this community, is related to, and often dependent upon, members of other communities throughout the world.
· To expand the child's basic knowledge of world history and geography with particular emphasis being directed toward Australia's heritage.
To develop research skills and assignment presentation skills.
