ART

Art is an important part of the development of all students. Years 5-7 students begin on the road of the whole school spiral Art Program. The program develops the understanding and skills necessary to make, display and respond to works of art.

The Art programme enables the students to gain a broad, artistic experience. They are given the opportunity to experiment, explore and invent with a variety of media. Both two-dimensional and three-dimensional materials and methods are explored and cover as wide a scope as possible at this level.

The students visually express something about the world in which they live, their experiences and knowledge through their Art work. This communication should be encouraged, developed and extended.

DRAMA

Students in Years 5-7 will have the opportunity to experience Drama giving them a chance to explore improvisation, simple play-building skills and to extend their powers of imagination and lateral thinking.

Through Drama, they will improve their communication skills and their group interactions, giving them a basis for furthering their interest in Drama, and also assisting with ELA and Social Studies.
