STUDENT ART COLLECTION
The Student Art Collection was established in 1993. The College
purchases a work completed by a member of the Senior Art class each year.
The collection includes drawing, painting, photography and sculpture to
date and the pieces can be found around the campus.
1993 "Integration" by Alex Carrick
This painting explores the effect of white settlement on Aboriginal
culture.
1994 Colour photograms by Marco Masci
Marco was the first student to explore colour processing in the College
darkroom. He has continued in the field of photography and has exhibited
his work locally and interstate.
1995 "The Crucifixion" by Mark Fernandez
This surrealist painting was completed after a study of Salvador Dali's
work and hangs in the College Chapel.
1997 "Fallen Soldiers" by Mark Dreyer.
This photographic work depicts the Brisbane Anzac Memorial and won the
Photographic Section of the 1997 Nudgee College Art Festival.
1998 "Rugby Dreams" by Matthew Salmon.
Matthew was Dux of the 1998 Senior Art class. This pastel drawing
depicts an Australian rugby jersey and other sporting gear.
1999 "Chewie" by Elliott Salmon
Elliott used his pet dog, Chewie as the subject for this metal sculpture
and gathered the parts from a number of auto wreckers. He then welded
the parts together to form the dog.
