Future Problem Solving

Over the years Terrace has competed in the Future Problem Solving Program with many boys benefitting from the experience. Students research current global challenges and compete using a six step problem solving process. Booklet teams complete this process in a two hour time frame.

Australian Finals - Melbourne 2008

Three booklet teams, Senior Division: Joseph Burke, Ged Forrest, Luke Moloney and Michael O'Keeffe, winners Senior division.
Middle Division: Year 10 Jonathan Ho, Gareth Jones, Oliver Creagh and Dan Wharton, 5th Place. Year 9 Damian Maher, Danny Debattista, Hamish Lonergan, Ben Moloney top 15.
Scenario Writers Middle Division: Emmett Ryan 1st place, Charlie Coleman 4th place
Community Problem Solving Team Middle Division: Year 10, David Tyquin, David Tubb, Nick Denzin, Will Hinz, Will Greig, Ben Sullivan, Robert Davis.

Western Australia: finals venue for 2007

Two booklet teams competed in the finals in Perth at Wesley College.The Middle Division Team of Ben Moloney, Damian Maher, Daniel Debattista and Hamish Lonergan made the finals in the Action Plan Presentation and the Terrace Senior Team James Larkin, Luke Moloney, Aaron Previte and Michael O'Keeffe placed 4th overall. Congratulations on their great achievement.

Australian Finals 2006 - Melbourne University

Terrace has a proud history of participation in the Macquarie Bank Future Problem Solving Program with eight teams competing this year in the Junior and Middle Booklet divisions and one entry in Scenario writing. Two teams travelled to Melbourne for the Finals:

Year 10: James Larkin, Luke Moloney, Aaron Previte and James Andrews
Year 8: Jonathan Ho, Dan Wharton, Oliver Creagh and Gareth Jones
Jack Ryan from Year 7 won third place in Australia in the Junior Scenario Writing Division
