Faculty Of Exceptional Learners - Staff Directory

The staff of the Faculty of Exceptional Learners strive to demonstrate empathy and commitment towards all students but especially to those who have 'special educational needs'. We endeavour to act as 'advocates' for the students within the College community and support their academic needs. As some of the faculty staff are part time it is advisable to make an appointment if you wish to discuss a student's progress.

Julie has worked in special education settings for over twenty years. Her interest and commitment lies in catering for all students but especially those who have special educational needs.

Coordinator Gifted & Talented -Challenge Program

Carolyn has worked with students in various aspects of education for gifted and talented students for over ten years. She is concerned with developing the potential of all students and developing their ability as independent life-long learners.

Mrs Barbara Broom
Learning Support Teacher - Lower Middle School

Barbara has had extensive experience in primary,secondary and adult education sectors for the past ten years. Her aim is to work with students in achieving the best possible outcomes and in realising their potential.

 

Mrs Lisa MacDermott

Mrs Lisa MacDermott

Lisa is an experienced middle school classroom and learning support teacher. She is committed to supporting students with special educational needs and implementing Dimensions of Learning into the Curriculum.

Mrs Mary Caniffe

Learning Support Teacher

Mary is committed to developing partnerships between teachers, parents and students. She is Coordinator of the Secondary Learning Assistance Program (LAP) and develops programs to support students in years 8, 9 and 10. 

Mrs Tracey McIvor

Mrs Tracey McIvor
Learning Support and ESL Teacher

Tracey is a specialist/learning support humanities teacher for students up to Year 12. She assists them in the development of their English skills and the completion of assignment tasks. She also works with students for whom English is their second language.

 

Mr David Martin
Speech Pathologist

David Martin is a Speech Pathologist who works with students who are experiencing difficulty with expressive and receptive language as a user pays service.

 

Mrs Carmel Roberts
Learning Support Teacher Secondary

Carmel is the Secondary Learning support Teacher in the area of Mathematics and Science. She works with individual students and small groups from Years 8 to 12.

Mrs Catherine Cochran

Integration Teacher/ Learning Support Assistant

Catherine is a secondary teacher who works in the Faculty supporting students with special needs and in the Learning Assistance Program in the Lower Middle School.

Ms Bronwyn Hine
Teacher Secondary

Bronwyn is a secondary teacher who works in the Faculty supporting students of Year 11 and 12 English and Year 8 and 10 Learning Enrichment classes.
