Manage Your Time

Think Smart

Take note of the techniques that you currently use and put an * next to one or two you could try!

  • Always write your homework in your diary so you are clear on what to do.
  • Have regular times set aside to do your homework and schoolwork.
  • Be aware of what time of day you are most productive.
  • Use a large calendar so you can clearly see when all your work is due.
  • Make a ‘to do list’ in order and work through it one by one.
  • Plan what you are going to do before you start working.
  • Do the most urgent tasks first and leave the ones that can wait.
  • Study the most difficult and boring subjects first.
  • Break large pieces of work into more manageable chunks to do.
  • Be aware of your distractions like TV or phones and minimise them.

WORK OUT YOUR PRIORITIES!

The main thing is to keep THE MAIN THING, the main thing”!

  • What needs to be done by the end of the week?
Research and notes for assignment; do palm cards & rehearse oral; review new work covered this week.
  • What needs to be done by the end of next week?
Draft of assignment; revision for class test; review chapters covered so far and write questions for study session.

Plan your time and follow your plan
