Practical Exercise - Contrasts in Development

Involves studying a range of development indicators in South and South-East Asia. Students will be required to construct a scatterplot following geographic conventions and calculate Spearman's Rank Correlation Coefficient using the indicators provided.

An extended paragraph analysis of the implications of this graph and coefficient will follow.

Students will then determine from the data provided the least developed country and provide a justified solution to help address the issues the country is facing.

Development assistance can occur in various forms. The funding of a development project is always needed to ensure a project's success.
