A look at morality through the study of Gospel stories and film animation.
What are good ,better,best ways of behaving and relating to one another in our world?
The Prodigal Son and The Good Samaritan are two stories considered in detail.

Year 6 - A brief outline of each term :
Term 1 :
In this unit, students explore the text of the Bible, looking at the various genres of Bible stories. |
Exploring the text: looking at the texts in the Bible :
How are the Narratives, Parables and Miracle Stories structured? How is metaphoric language used? What are key events in a Narrative? How does constructing a storyboard help us invesigate text?

Term 2:
In this unit, students look at Jesus and the origins of Christianity

Exploring Jesus' life as a Jew, Jewish Customs - exploring the land of Jesus
What are Jewish practices past and present? What were Jesus' traditions and teachings? What are some examples of Jesus Mission of healing? What are some organisations which carry out Jesus' message?

Term 3:
In this unit, students will look at Morality - Codes of Behaviour
|
What are the Ten Commandments? What are the important commandments for me and for the society I live in? What are important values for Christian Living? Looking at the Gospel of Matthew - what are the values enshrined there for me? What does Jesus say in the Beatitudes? What are the implications for me in the Beatitudes?

Term 4 : In this unit , students will look at prayer and ritual in their lives and in the life of the Church.

What is prayer? What is ritual? What types of prayer/ritual are there? What are biblical examples of prayer? What is the purpose of prayer? of ritual? How does prayer fit in to my life, the life of the Church, of our Terrace Community? Composing prayers for special purposes.

Year 7: A brief outline of each term

Students at the symbolic, architectural and relational features of Church. How does Church operate in our lives? |
| Term 2: Scripture - Historical, cultural and social context |
Students learn about and research the historical, social and cultural context of scripture. They also participate in a number of activities designed to help them get a deeper understanding of Jesus in context. |
| Term 3: Making meaning through prayers and rituals |
Students participate in a series of activities and reflections to guide them into 'making meaning' through prayer and ritual. |
| Term 4: Perspectives on Morality |
Students engage in a series of activities and discussions intended to help them though the decision making processes involved in making moral judgements |
