The Terrace Cardinals have once again enjoyed a successful year creating opportunities from non-traditional sources for the Terrace community in the teaching, learning, sporting and cultural aspects of the College. These initiatives have raised in excess of $80,000 in 2006 in cash and goods. The major contributions during the year came from Classic Sportswear, Coca Cola, Foster’s Group, Sharp ABT, QBE Insurance, OnetoTravel, Bank of Queensland andAllied Sporting Products.
Our associations with our sponsors have allowed the Cardinals to contribute considerable funds for activities and facilities at the College over the past year.
The Terrace Family Directory and the Parent & Son Dinner, continue to grow with the dinner one of the highlights on the Terrace social calendar. The Cardinals would urge the Terrace community to continue to support these projects, all of our major sponsors and the advertisers in the Family Directory.
In 2006 the Terrace Art Show was reinstituted and run in the Campbell Centre and was a resounding success. The Committee would like to thank Pauline O’Brien and her team for their great efforts.
During the year the Cardinals provided funds for numerous projects including the following:
- Refurbishment of College Hall $25,000
- Waterford Pilgrimage $15,000
Outlook for 2007
In the New Year the Committee is planning to continue to grow new sponsorship and to extend its focus on the Tennyson Redevelopment and Terrace supporter’s clothing. To this extent we would ask parents and friend of the school to show their support by wearing Terrace supporter’s gear.
Our associations with our sponsors have allowed the Cardinals to contribute considerable funds for activities and facilities at the College over the past year. We have recently negotiated an agreement with QBE Insurance whereby if members of the Terrace community fill out and application form and transfer their CTP insurance to QBE the Terrace Cardinals receive a fee.
