Terrace has a large number of bands, ensembles and choral groups. Acceptance of a place in any Terrace instrumental group is a serious commitment for the whole year. Students must comply with compulsory attendance at rehearsals, concerts, tutorials, workshops, music camps and other activities. Rehearsals must be given a high priority. (Clashes with sports training are usually resolved by consultation with the sports coaches.) For more information on the ensembles click on the links below. Performances
All instrumental and vocal groups are required to perform regularly at various school and outside functions throughout the year. These include such events as the Performing Arts Concert, masses, Awards Evening, fetes, fairs and Children’s Week in the Mall. As well, the groups may be required to perform in competitions such as the Catholic Colleges Music Festival, the Brisbane Eisteddfod and the Queensland Festival of Music. Dates of many of these events may be found in the school diary and given well in advance so that students can plan accordingly.
Queensland Catholic Schools and Colleges Music Festival
Many Terrace groups will take part in this annual event which is held each year at Villanova College Sixth Avenue Coorparoo and Loreto College, Cavendish Road Coorparoo and St James' Catholic Church, 165 Old Cleveland Road, Coorparoo.
