Dimension 3 ANALYSING PERSPECTIVES
The process of identifying multiple perspectives on an issue and examining the reasons and logic behind each.
Stated more simply, it is the process of
describing reasons for different points of view
STEPS IN THE PROCESS
When you are examining an issue about which people disagree, first identify
and clearly articulate one perspective.
Once you have identified a perspective, try to determine the reasons or logic
behind it.
Next, identify and clearly articulate a different perspective.
Try to describe the reasons or logic behind the different perspective
· Choose one of the following issues:-
· Abortion
· Capital Punishment
· Cloning
· Euthanasia
· Genetic Engineering
· IVF
· September 11
· Stem Cell research
· Suicide
· In a minimum of 800 words:-
1. Identify and explain the issue
2. Explain the Catholic Churchs perspective on this issue
3. Explain different perspectives on this issue.
(This will provide arguments for and against this issue)
4. Justify your perspective on this issue.
