Years 5 and 6 Program Leader | Mr Brendan Ganley

During Weeks 4-6, students and their families are invited to contribute to the Eddie’s Blanket Drive.

Firstly, congratulations to students in Years 5, 7 and 9 for their dedication and application to the NAPLAN preparation this week and we hope that their results will reflect their efforts. Results for NAPLAN generally arrive at school mid Term 3.

With this busy week completed, attention can focus solely on our academic studies. This is a short term which means that for Week 4, assignments should now be in their draft stage. Students are encouraged to check with their teachers for advice and direction for where improvements need to be made. Also, even though exams are a couple of weeks away, students are reminded to take time for some remote preparation. The willingness to put extra time in now will count in the late revision stages nearer to exam time.

In Term 2 there is another opportunity for our Years 5 and 6 students to engage in Terrace Ministry programs. With the winter months approaching, Terrace would like to support our friends of the Terrace Eddie’s Van program through an Eddie’s Blanket Drive.

During Weeks 4-6, students and their families are invited to contribute to the Eddie’s Blanket Drive by bringing in blankets and items of warm clothing (adult). The provision of a warm blanket or item of clothing will be a welcome addition to our ongoing daily commitment to our Eddie’s Van friends and to ourworking as a Terrace community to make a difference to others. Congratulations again on the wonderful contributions for our Lenten Fair and Lenten Appeal and we look forward to any contributions whichcan be deposited into your son’s classroom and will then be distributed to our Eddie’s Van friends via our Big Brekkie and Night Van ministry programs.
