Principal’s Message | Dr Michael Carroll

Dear Members of the Terrace Family,

Our newest members of the Terrace Family (Year 5 students), have commenced their first camp program this week.  Three classes journey to Maroon this week, with the other two classes going next week.  Maroon is a special part of the Terrace experience, and as our Year 5 students journey towards the end of their first term at Terrace, visiting Maroon is a great way to finish off the Term.

For the majority of the other students across Years 6 to 12, the exams have begun.  It is very important that students are well prepared for their exams.  This includes having the correct equipment, checking their exam timetable and importantly, having adequate sleep.  Being well rested is essential to maximise performance.  Avoid late night ‘cramming’ sessions but rather, do some revision and have an early night.  Good luck to all students with their exams.

Although next week is the last week of term, there is plenty happening across the week, including the Parent Gaming Information Presentation on Wednesday 28 March (Campbell Centre).  There are also a number of presentations for students during the week, as well as some important year level testing and QCS practices.  The term will finish on Thursday 29 March with an Easter Liturgy.  Students will be dismissed at 2.50pm on Holy Thursday.

This weekend sees the final round of the GPS sporting competition for this term.  Terrace will play Toowoomba Grammar School in Cricket and Volleyball.  I take this opportunity to thank and congratulate all those involved with these two sports this season.  Yet again, there has been excellent participation across both sports as well as very strong results.  My thanks to both the Cricket and Volleyball Support Groups for their great work.  Good luck to all players, particularly our Year 12 students, who play their final cricket or volleyball game for Terrace this weekend.

Cross Country and Tennis seasons begin next term and it is my pleasure to announce leaders of these activities:

CROSS COUNTRY

CAPTAIN | Tom Dwyer
VICE-CAPTAINS | Oscar Gallagher and Oliver Gallagher

TENNIS

CAPTAIN| George Campbell
VICE-CAPTAIN | Pat Synott

Good luck to these young men and all the cross country runners and tennis players.

Have a great week.

God Bless.
