Round 5 v BSHS

Well done to all the boys who represented the College last Saturday in the round of fixtures v BSHS at our home venues. Both the Football and Tennis programs had successful days across the board, with Terrace winning the majority of the scheduled fixtures. Thank you to all the families that participated in the vast number of supplementary games that occurred across Tennyson against a number of schools.

The 1st teams of both activities had mixed days – the Football 1st XI squandered several chances to score – dominating the game but allowing one scoring opportunity for their opposition to capitalise on, eventually going down 0-1, in a tight contest.

The Tennis 1st IV had a mixed day, although winning the round, they were hampered by a number of injuries that have crept into their team and were held accountable by a very competitive opposition, eventually winning 5-3.

Well done to both teams for their performances.

Thank you to the way the Football families juggled the photo day at Tennyson. Also, a sincere thank you to the number of parents who volunteered in the BBQ pit and the Canteen. Your assistance is truly appreciated – every little bit of help is appreciated and the coordinators of both facilities have remarked on how much easier the day was when there were more hands on deck.

Round 6 v ACGS

This Saturday the majority of our teams head to Churchie to compete in Football and Tennis, with a number of supplementary games across the venues. Good luck to all the boys. Both schools are very similar in their numbers and in the style of their communities, so it will be a good test of the programs and the skill sets of all the boys in all teams. It is very pleasing to see that after a slightly rocky start that all teams are now wearing the correct uniform or House shirt when representing the College. We look a lot better on the field – wear your colours and your uniform with pride.

The Cross Country program continues to build with Director of Cross Country Mr Ebrington excited about the performances of all the age levels at recent meets – overall the College came equal third at the last meet. Well done to the boys and keep up the hard work at training with the championships only a few weeks away.
