Since the House system was started in 1991, Mahoney House has always been quite successful. This year, Mahoney House has strived towards developing the spirit of the House, and encouraging the participation of individuals in the House, and the College community. The success of Mahoney isnt dependent on just the Seniors; every person in Mahoney has something that is of benefit. Whether it be in the sporting area, academic or cultural, every student in Mahoney plays a very important part to help Mahoney achieve the goals it strives to reach.
As you would be aware, Mahoney lost its patron and namesake, Professor James Mahoney. He was Terraces first Rhodes Scholar, the first of fourteen so far. He set himself very high standards and more importantly, achieved these standards. He realised that such standards required sacrifice and dedication for them to be achieved. The result was a man who was worthy of emulation. Mr McCulloch and the leaders believe that every Mahoney student should view James Mahoney as his role model and be prepared to follow the motto he gave the House - Integer et Diligens - integrity and diligence. |
