Procedures
and Regulations for Use of Learning Technology in the College Library & Information Centre
Rights
Students will:
- Receive access rights to
the World Wide Web, Compact Discs and software for curriculum-related
information in class time.
- Receive supervised access
rights to the World Wide Web, Compact Discs and software for curriculum
related purposes, before school, during lunch breaks and after school
if supervision by Library Staff can be provided.
- Have access to printing
information from the World Wide Web, Compact Discs and software for
a cost of 20 cents per page
Responsibilities
Students must:
- Treat all computers with
care and respect
- Comply with all Library
rules, as well as those published in the 'Code of Classroom Behaviour"
- Obey Copyright Regulations
- Use printers correctly.
Students must check with a member of the Library staff before printing
- Use only sites and software
that are relevant to the curriculum
- Not deliberately 'fiddle'
or attempt to 'fiddle' with the network software, cabling or hardware,
or modify established configuration settings in any way.
- Have all floppy disks checked
for viruses by a member of the Library staff before use.
- Not access inappropriate
material on the World Wide Web or engage in any breaches of Netiquette.
Such behaviour will result in have access rights denied for a specified
period.
It
is the students' responsibility to make sure they understand the above
regulations and procedures. Any breach of the above regulations and
procedures will result in penalties
