FOR THE LUKE HARROP MEMORIAL TROPHY

The annual Interhouse Cross Country Championship for the Luke Harrop Memorial Trophy will again be held in Victoria Park on Friday May 1, 2009. Below are all the details for the day including race times; race distances and the school day timetable.

A championship race will be held for each age group.

  • In Years 5, 6 and 7 all students will run in their respective races with all runners counting. 

  • Any student in Years 5, 6 and 7 competing for an Age Championship place, must ensure he runs in the appropriate race (ie U10 – Yr 5, U11 – Yr 6, U12 – Yr 7)

  • In the Secondary Age Championships, any student (as determined by the House Captains) will be allowed to compete in this race. 

  • In all races, points will be allocated by tallying each house’s runners, the winner to sixth will be determined. Points from 6 to 1 will then be allocated for the Interhouse Championship. 

  • Both Interhouse and Age Championship races count towards the overall points tally. Students ARE allowed to run in BOTH races.

 

AGE CHAMPIONSHIP EVENTS:

Run on Top Course

11.30AM - U/10 2 km All Run

11.40AM - U/11 2 km All Run

11.50AM - U/12 2 km All Run

12.00 NOON - All students in Years 5, 6 and 7 return for lunch at school.

12.30PM - U/13 3 km

12.45PM - U14/U15 4 km

1.10PM - U/16 & Open 6 km

 

SECONDARY INTERHOUSE EVENTS:

1.45PM All students in Years 5, 6 and 7 return to Victoria Park for the final faces and presentations.

 

1.50PM - Year 8 2 km

2.00PM - Year 9 2 km

2.10PM - Year 10 2 km

2.20PM - Year 11 2 km

2.30PM - Year 12 2 km

 

The Inter-House races for the Secondary age groups will be held over shorter distances. All Secondary students may run. Points will be allocated according to placings.

e.g. First 33% of runners – 3 points; Second 33% of runners – 2 points and so on.

By tallying each house’s runners, the winner to sixth will be determined in each age group. Points from 6 to 1 will then be allocated for the Interhouse Championship.

Period 3: 10.32 a.m. ® 11.07 a.m. (35 minutes)

Period 4: 11:11 a.m. ® 11:46 a.m. (35 minutes)

First Event (Years 5, 6 & 7) 11.30 a.m. ® 12.00 noon

Lunch 11:46 a.m. ® 12:05 p.m.

Secondary School move to Victoria Park 12:05 p.m.

First Event (Secondary) 12:30 p.m.

Rolls marked 2:55 p.m

Dismissal 3:05 p.m.
