It is essential that Students and Parents are aware of the following:
- A number of the sports overseen by Met. North are “Terrace GPS” sports, and are part of the College seasonal program, and are the only pathway to State and National School Team selection. For Example: Swimming, Track and Field, Cross Country. In those cases, Terrace Sport Directors will work with students in determining the College’s nominations. Transport and supervision at the Met. North trials will be provided by the College where appropriate.
- A number of the sports overseen by Met. North are “Terrace GPS” sports, and while outside of the normal seasonal program, the College will support boys’ nomination through transport and supervision where appropriate. For example, rugby union, touch, basketball etc.
- Many sports offered at the representative level are not part of the Terrace sporting program. For example, baseball, triathlon etc. In those cases, boys are welcome to nominate but transport will not be provided and supervision will be by Met. North staff. In those cases, before the Principal or Director of Sport signs off on any nomination, boys will be asked to outline their history in the sport.
- Once boys are selected for the Met. North Region, they are then a member of the Met. North team and are under the management of Met. North staff. Transport is to be provided by Met. North or students are to follow their directions in terms of transport (ie private transport) and accommodation. Terrace does not then provide transport or supervision.
- If the sport is a Terrace sport, the students’ nomination will only be supported by the College if the student represents Terrace in GPS or Non GPS competition.
- If a student is playing a Terrace sport which is in season, and he misses a match due to a Met. North competition for another sport, he may jeopardize his place in his Terrace team due to his absence.
- If the Met. North Trials or State Carnival occur during a Terrace exam period, the Principal may not approve the students’ nomination.
- All fees payable to Met. North for nomination, travel or clothing is the responsibility of the student.

Process for Terrace students wishing to nominate for Metropolitan North trials is as follows:
- Sports Office places Met. North Calendar in the Co-Curricular/Sport Web Site
- Sports Office advertises Met. North Website address (http://www.metnorthsport.qld.edu.au) through student notices. Students may then print their own copy of calendar of Met. North key dates.Copies available at the Sports Office
