Terrace Volleyball continues to search for that special formula that will give our players and coaches the essential edge over their opposition. Director of Volleyball, Mr. Conley has been extremely proactive in experimenting with various new initiatives as well as a new coaching set up which the College believes will futher enhance the level of skill and knowledge of our coaches and players. The 2006 First squad has already competed very successfully in the Queensland Schools Cup for the first time in the Colleges' history as well as entering a number of players in various beach volleyball competitions.
On the coaching front, the players and coaches welcome home to Terrace the First VI Coach for 2006, old boy Mr. Martin Rogalski who will link with our Head Coach, Miss Sarah Maxwell who will soon return for her second season in the role following a very rewarding world beach volleyball tour. Mr. Rogalski takes control of the First VI squad throughout Term 4 and through the holidays before selecting the final 12 players for the 2006 GPS season. Mr. Rogalski was an outstanding member of the Terrace First VI from 1999 to 2002 and has enjoyed excellent success in coaching at both BBC and IGS since leaving school. He has also maintained his own personal high level of volleyball skills in both indoor and beach competitions. Mr. Rogalski is a fantastic addition to the coaching staff at Terrace.
Miss Maxwell will again provide outstanding leadership in the coaching ranks as she imparts her high level of up to date knowledge and skills in volleyball. Miss Maxwell will take a far more involved participation in the direction of the coaching programs from the Under 13 teams to the Open Seconds, while providing Mr. Rogalski with professional assistance with the First VI.
The 2006 season brings with it much anticipation, excitement and a firm belief of continued improvement in all aspects of the Terrace Volleyball program.
