Library

The Terrace Library’s mission is to facilitate a dynamic space that contributes to a centre of leisure reading, information, inquiry, innovation and instructional excellence for the Terrace Community. This library aims to follow the Edmund Rice tradition through providing the gifts of community and learning to Terrace.
Our library is the information - technology - learning hub of the school. This busy place supports staff and students in enriching and enhancing their personal, academic and professional goals.
As a space, the library is both physical and virtual. It is a space where people can investigate and enjoy information in all its forms and revel in the pleasure that literature and the pursuit of learning, brings to our lives. The library provides a pleasant atmosphere of quiet to support the positive learning habits of students, especially the vitally important habit of reading.
The Library maintains spaces for:
- teaching and learning
- quiet study
- absorbing yourself in a great book
- peer conferencing and collaboration
- academic consultation and tutoring
The Library also provides access to:
- face-to-face and online services and resources, both print and digital, provided by teacher librarians and friendly professional library staff
- research guidance to facilitate skilled information retrieval
- tutorials in the Library Moodle
- good reading and reading recommendations
- computers
- audio visual services
- extended opening hours
The Library facilitates opportunities to:
- develop research skills
