Terrace Ladies Group

This term the TLG have a wonderful schedule of events coming up including the TLG Meeting this coming Monday, the Mothers’ Retreat on 7 August and the Spring Luncheon on 1 September.

TLG Meeting | 17 July | 9am | GT125: Mrs Julie Quinn Dean of Studies our Guest Speaker

All are invited and welcome to attend the next TLG meeting, which will be at 9am this coming Monday in GT125. Our guest speaker is Mrs Julie Quinn, Dean of Studies. Julie is going to be focusing on Year 12 matters – University applications, OPs, the QCS program and parenting our boys in their final stages of schooling. While this is primarily a Senior topic, it would also be useful for parents of boys in the higher grades looking forward – or perhaps you may have senior daughters at other schools and would benefit from this information too. All are welcome to join us for morning tea in the Founders Room afterwards. Please email marianneeadie16@gmail.com to let her know if you will be attending for catering purposes.

Save the Date | 7 August | Mothers Retreat

Be sure to put this wonderful morning of tai chi into your diaries where you will relax and relieve stress and anxiety with calming meditation in motion. We have two instructors from the Australian Academy of Tai Chi in New Farm coming to guide us in a group session under the jacarandas at Tennyson. Afterwards we will be serving a delicious range of fresh produce and cold pressed juices from Kiss the Berry, a business based at Southbank. A link for registering your attendance will be forwarded via an email next week and the cost of attending will be $30 for the morning. No need to wear your active wear for this. Just comfortable clothes and footwear will do so you can easily go about your day afterwards feeling rejuvenated and revived.

Spring Luncheon | 1 September | Hillstone, St Lucia

The Spring Luncheon is on this term, 1 September, Week 8 (of the 10 week term). The cost of the tickets will be $125 which includes canapés and a complimentary glass of Veuve Clicquot on arrival, a two course meal with complementary wines on tables, special cash bar prices, great entertainment and raffle tickets to win amazing prizes. McKinney’s Jewellers have kindly offered a $5000 voucher towards our fundraising for the event. Thank you once again to McKinney’s for their generosity towards our TLG functions. Your ongoing support is greatly appreciated.

To continue the festivities, Gambaro’s have provided a host of generous offers for us to enjoy at the end of the day.

Tennyson Canteen

A big thank you to everyone who helped in the canteen on Saturday for the Rugby trial matches against BGS. It was a beautiful winter’s day and Tennyson was looking spectacular – a great start to the season and perfect setting for the launch. Thank you also to the Rugby Support Group who put on a great celebration for the boys and families to enjoy the start to the season ahead.

Remember that all help is most welcomed in the canteen and that you can sign up for a time slot via the link sent out with the game schedules by the Sport Office on Thursdays. If you haven’t signed up and see that we are having a busy snap, by all means feel free to pop in for a short patch to help get us through. We would really appreciate it.
