College Dean | Acting Dean, Mr Damien Fall

As we come to the end of another term, I would like to congratulate and thank our staff for their efforts throughout the term, particularly in recent days with the pressure of marking and reporting deadlines. It would be fair to say that students and staff look like they are ready for a well-deserved break.

With such a large staff, there are often movements that come about as a result of leave. While these changes can be disruptive, they are unavoidable and we certainly do all in our power to minimise any impact on classes when teaching staff take leave they are entitled to enjoy. This week, we farewell Mrs Natalie Berndt and Mr Alex Berry, both of whom have done a wonderful job in contract teaching positions. We thank Natalie and Alex and wish them well and hope to see them back at Terrace sometime in the future. Thanks also to our friend Mrs Madonna Effeney, who filled in for Mrs Cath Griffin while she took long service leave.

Next term, Mrs Loren Serafin-Huey will return from leave and we thank Mr James Turner, who has acted in the role of Head of Faculty, Business and Technology. Mr Geoff Ludlow will return to his role as classroom teacher at the commencement of Term 4. Mrs Tracey McIvor also returns to the Faculty of Exceptional Learners after a period of leave and Mrs Kathy Wilson will resume her role as Assistant to the Dean of Studies in Term 4. Thanks to Mrs Anne Kirkwood for covering this role. Finally, Mrs Jan Cameron will return next term, and we thank Mrs Judy Ariotti for her dedication in covering Jan’s role as Academic Administrator.

I wish all of our families an enjoyable break and I hope parents as well as students are able to enjoy a change of routine. I look forward to a productive time when we return in Term 4.
