Dean of Waterford | Mr Mason Hellyer

I trust that there has been some constructive discussion at home regarding subject selection.

The careers course that the boys have been undertaking in Formation classes for the last six school weeks is drawing to a close, with the upcoming Year 11 Subject Selection Evening and subsequent interviews with the College’s Head of Faculty staff commencing in Week 5.

Your son should have had his completed SET plan signed and returned to his Formation teacher. I trust that there has been some constructive discussion at home regarding subject selection. A subject selection booklet will be sent home shortly. This booklet contains the relevant information about the subjects on offer in Years 11 and 12 for your son. It would be beneficial to have spent some time looking at this prior to the information evening on Monday 7 August.

The Year 10 cohort and class photos will be held on Monday 31 July. The cohort photo will take place at the commencement of the school day. Therefore, all students will be required to be at Waterford by 8.15am.

Thank you to the boys and parents for the support of the Chocolate drive. All funds raised from the drive will go the Waterford friendship group, Edmund Rice Camps. Edmund Rice Camps provide holiday experiences for young people aged 7 - 16 years who would not otherwise be able to enjoy them. There is a small cost for the young people to attend the camps. Many of the participants come from what could be considered as marginalised or disadvantaged backgrounds. The camps also provide welcome respite for parents and families. A reminder that all monies and unsold chocolates are to be returned by Friday 28 July.
