The Weekly Wrap

Your Round 2 wrap is here!

Rugby Wrap

Tennyson was at its very best last weekend in hosting Round 2 of the GPS Rugby competition against BSHS. Thanks to everyone who made the day a success and in particular, our Tennyson care taker Mr Alan Kennedy and his staff for preparing the fields. Special thanks to the Rugby Support Group and all the parents who generously gave up their time to assist in the BBQ pit and canteen. Without the help of these people, offering the best game day experience would not be possible. I encourage all families to assist when possible.

Congratulations to all teams for their efforts last weekend against BSHS, ACGS, NC, BBC and TSS. It's pleasing to see the continual improvement of all teams. The willingness to shift the ball to space and use the width of the field was evident with plenty of entertaining tries from all parts of the fields.

Weekend result can be found by clicking on the GPS Rugby link below. This will give you access to all results across all school and age groups. Please note that the 1st XV competition is the only grade that plays for a premiership. http://www.rugbylink.com.au/

Our program is built upon a sound philosophy of educating and developing our coaches and creating a standard of knowledge and understanding. Our C – F teams are primarily coached by old boys who generously give up their time to coach our boys. This season we are fortunate to have the service of Mr Michael Broad, Mr Tom Johnson, Mr Nathan Munro and Mr John Tabrett who are level three and two coaches respectively. The role of these four gentlemen is to support these young coaches while ensuring consistency of skill execution, terminology and performance leading to a whole school approach across all of our C-F teams.

Congratulations to the following boys who represented Met Nth at the recent Under 15 State Carnivals, Gus Dillman, Patrick Elekana, Charles Condon, Quinn Siolo, Rory Slevin and Jordyn Bell.

Dads if you are interested in refereeing please contact me via email as each weekend we are required to cover up to 20 + games tyronmandrusiak@terrace.qld.edu.au Your support will be greatly appreciated. NO REFS = NO GAMES.

A weekly Terrace Team Man is selected by the coaching staff during the GPS season. This is in recognition of any player who makes an outstanding contribution to their team both at training and in a game. Congratulations to the below boys on their selection.

All the very best to all teams heading into Round 3.
