All our ensembles will be focusing on preparations for the Queensland Catholic Schools and Colleges Music Festival (QCMF) which will take place at Villanova College from Thursday 17 August through Sunday 20 August. This is our “grand final” event for music and, as such, it is expected that these performances take priority. A complete schedule for the event is currently on the Terrace App and, as is usual for all events, more detailed information has been sent out via Parent Lounge. Please respond to these notifications to confirm your son’s attendance at the various performances. It is always a busy but rewarding weekend for our musicians, providing them with a great performance experience as well as the opportunity to listen to other ensembles and receive some constructive feedback from experienced adjudicators. Please ensure that your son has a Terrace Music folder (available from the Terrace Shop) and the correct uniform (as outlined on the Event Memo) before the festival. The following links contain helpful information to assist you in navigating QCMF. Click here to view the Festival Map and parking information. Thank you to all who attended the Strings Showcase Concert last night. The boys are to be congratulated on their performance and thank you to Mrs Kelly and the string teachers for their efforts in preparing the evening.
Congratulations to the 1st Percussion Ensemble, under the direction of Mr Matt Cocking, for their performance on College Assembly this week. Next week, the Music Spirit Assembly will take place on Thursday 17 August, just prior to QCMF and will involve performances from our premier ensembles. Since this performance is taking place directly after the RNA Show Day holiday, please ensure your sons have their instrument and music at school in preparation for this performance.
