We Will Rock You – May 16 - 19

In 2018 Terrace will continue to let our students shine on stage, this time in the production of We Will Rock You (WWRY). It was only announced earlier this year that 2018 has been reserved for amateur theatre. We have been working very hard with the publisher and we will be amongst a limited number of schools with the rights to perform this in 2018. Furthermore, as I understand it, we will be the first of all schools in Australia. To allow this to happen in the public eye the show must be called Schools Will Rock You, while we may call it WWRY internally, in newsletters and programs. The show is actually the WWRY book.

The show will run over four nights to ensure we have enough seating to meet the demand on ticketing. Four nights will allow 1800 tickets to be sold which equals that of Pippin 2016. Pippin sold within the week and we expect these tickets to move even faster. We are fortunate enough at Terrace to have Mr Peter Murphy on staff. Mr Murphy played the role of Galileo in both the West End and Tokyo productions and features in a picture on page seven of the libretto. Mr Murphy is currently on secondment to the Commonwealth Games and will be playing a large part in the guidance of the production. Peter will return on April 30 to give final pointers before opening night May 16 2018 (two days after the 16th Anniversary). We are also in discussions with a choreographer who performed this show in West End and our makeup artist from this year’s middle school production of Shrek Jr.
