As we approach the halfway point of Term 2, it is safe to say most boys are feeling the pressure increasing with due dates for assignments fast racing up. With this in mind, it is extremely important that students keep the foot on the pedal and do not stop working until the final whistle has sounded. Term 2 can be a tough time for some, which is why it is essential that boys are able to help each other out and offer support. As countless times before have shown, we are stronger when we work together as a Terrace community, which is why we must continue to bring numbers to peer tutoring and study hall where we can work through problems together.

The term so far has no doubt been a challenge for all. However, from what I have seen around the school, I feel many boys are rising up to the challenge and embracing it. Being right in the middle of Football season and with pre-season Rugby starting up, there is the risk of students becoming overwhelmed with trying to balance co-curricular activities and academics. In order to prevent this, it is important that students dedicate a bit of time each night to their study. It makes a difference. As well as this, getting a good sleep during this period of the term is a must. Living a balanced lifestyle and continuing to chip away at work throughout the term will pay off in the long run.

Reflecting quickly on the weekend’s sporting fixture, I just wanted to congratulate the effort of the 1st XI Football team, who gave it their all despite suffering a loss to Brisbane State High School. I was pleasantly surprised by the number of younger boys who stayed behind to support the 1st XI for the Pride of Program day. The energy and enthusiasm was great to see and hopefully it continues throughout the rest of the year. Also, well done to the 1st IV Tennis for gaining another win on their way to a promising season. Finally, good luck to all Terrace boys with their respective sporting fixtures this weekend, enjoy yourselves.
