Director of Music | Acting Director, Mr Jan Hewerdine

Last weekend, the Red Peppers Pep Band performed for the half-time show at Tennyson for the Football. Once again, these young men did an outstanding job and really had the crowd on side! We have one more performance for the Pep Band Saturday 26 May.

Thank you too to Mrs Bernadette Debattista and the Terrace Choir for their support during the Edmund Rice Mass on Tuesday morning.

On Monday, a full musical rehearsal was held at the Gardens Theatre, in preparation for next week’s shows. Much was achieved, with the show promising to be an amazing event.

Because of NAPLAN, there will be no assembly next Tuesday.

The Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University is pleased to present the State Honours Ensemble Program Queensland (SHEP) from Thursday 4 to Sunday 7 October 2018 at the South Bank campus in Brisbane. SHEP provides an opportunity for secondary school wind, brass, percussion, string and voice students to work in an intensive environment of musical excellence with their peers, under the leadership of a team of eminent national and international conductors. This SHEP event targets students in the Years 8 to 12. Music teaching staff will nominate potential candidates and you will then be notified in due course by the Conservatorium.

For those of you who participate in our Premier Ensembles, the Terrace Shop now has a selection of black microfibre shirts available for $50. These will be required, along with black trousers, for the Norman Clarke Concert later this term.

Please check the Terrace App and Parent Lounge regularly as this is where information regarding various events (see the list below) will now be published. As events are approved and posted to the Parent Lounge, you will be sent an email advising the name of the event, including the Event Memo, to check and you will be required to give a response regarding attendance. Event Memos will also be available through the Terrace App in CultureMusic.
