Terrace Ladies Group

Terralicious ‘18

By all accounts, Terralicious ’18 was a resounding success. An incredible $41000 was raised to go towards the Conor Tweedy campaign and the refurbishment works within the College’s Wellbeing Centre. Both wonderful causes, and another testament to the Terrace Family looking out for one of our loved family members in need.

While I couldn’t attend, I have seen the many professional photos and instagram posts of our lovely ladies enjoying themselves. You can view the photos and copy them as you wish using this link:  Terralicious '18 Photos. There are some gorgeous photos of the fashion parade too, which you can access here:  Terralicious '18 Fashion Parade.

I would like to thank Mrs Jo Evans for her wonderful work in bringing this amazing event together again for us. Mrs Renee Lee (in the centre of the photo above with her models and MC Di Cant) currated the fashion parade including all work involved in coordinating with retailers and designers, organising models, and putting together what was an incredible parade. We are very fortunate to have Renee coordinate Terralicious through her business Renee's Runway Rentals.  She has the respect of many of Brisbane’s best fashion retailers, who are very happy to work with her. Thanks Renee, this is an enormous undertaking – one of which was greatly appreciated by all the ladies attending on Friday.  Thanks also to the fabulous Victoria Carthew (MC) and Di Cant (Fashion Parade MC).  The parade would not be the professional event it is without your incredible involvement.

Special thanks also to the marvellous can-doers of the Terralicious ‘18 committee (left to right below in photo): Dina Cavallucci, Simone Long, Kristin Essler, Nikki White, Simone Hiley, Jo Evans, Megan Clifford and Natalie Davis. Of course the group of ladies assisting Sue Ruddy with the gorgeous floral table arrangements were also worked hard in the days leading up to the event. My thanks also to Susannah Kits in the Communications Office at the College for her generous assistance in organising advertising and the online bookings for our events. Ladies, we really are most grateful for all of your efforts.

A very big thank you to our major sponsors, Hyundai and McKinney’s, and to Brisbane City Council who contributed just short of $10 000 towards our fundraising efforts. I would also like to thank all the other businesses and families who contributed to our prize pool of fabulous prizes, which added to the excitement of the day.

Congratulations to our main prize winners: Mrs Sue Bouton who won the Hyundai Hatchback (left below with Hyundai representatives, Louise Andrews and Rachel Hosking); and Guilia Cooper (below with Andrew Welch of McKinneys) who won the beautiful McKinney’s South Sea pearl necklace.

Below is the complete list of winners – congratulations to you all. If you have not already collected it, your prize can be collected from the College Reception in the Treacy Centre.

Thank you to everyone for coming along and supporting another TLG event. We ladies of Terrace enjoy our social outings, and everyone arrives with the best spirit and carries this spirit through to the after party at Cloudland. Thank you also to those who bought tickets to the raffle but didn’t make it to the event. Finally, a thank you to our models – thanks for bringing your great attitude and fun to the catwalk and continuing the fabulous tradition that is “Terralicious”.

Tennyson canteen

Thank you to everyone who assisted on Saturday at Tennyson in the canteen and barbeque pit. That wraps up the season for Rugby. It has been a great season with some changes in how we ran things, changes that have improved the experience for our customers and for those helping out too.

Athletics Carnival

Friday 12 October, the first Friday of Term 4, is the Inter-House Athletics Carnival at Tennyson. Planning is underway for a terrific offering in the canteen, so rest assured your chaps will be well fed and watered that day. Please sign on via this link to assist with serving on the day.
