Child Protection Week

This week we have joined communities throughout Australia in acknowledging Child Protection Week. During this time, Edmund Rice Education Australia have launched their Child Safeguarding Standards Framework. This is a comprehensive document which will continue to guide and support our best practice in promoting a safe community for our young people. The framework includes multiple layers of considerations for compliance policy and procedure and the enhancement of a pastoral culture and atmosphere of care for the students of Terrace. The College’s Blue Card working with children register and systems have successfully been externally audited this year, and we continue to invest in personnel and processes which work to help make Terrace a safe place to play, learn and develop. I take this opportunity in Child Protection Week to thank and acknowledge all staff for their commitment to the protection of our students.  A special thank you to our pastoral team, including three full time counsellors and Human Resources and Compliance team that supports our system processes. All of our policy and guideline documentation concerning Child Protection may be viewed on the College website under About Us/Policies.
