The power of positive affirmation

I was fortunate enough to purchase a ticket to the sell-out Terrace and All Hallows’ production of the musical Grease. The performance involved over 100 students performing at the Garden’s Point Theatre at QUT over four nights. On 6 May, I witnessed an unforgettable musical that exhibited the many talents of the participating students. The countless hours of hard work through the preparation and dedication displayed by these students is incomprehensible. After every scene, I was amazed by the detail of the 50s costumes and incredible prop changes (especially the car). The impressive singing, acting, dancing and makeup added to the characterisation of Rydell High. The reviews from those who were fortunate to attend have also been positive. I am speechless at the singing ability of the cast. Hopefully, some of the boys are willing to give me some singing lessons as they are much needed!

I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate and thank the staff, teachers, parents, caregivers and students on behalf of the College, who worked collectively to produce such a memorable musical. A special mention to the mothers, fathers and caregivers who have spent many hours as personal drivers to and from rehearsals over the school holidays, public holidays and during the term. This dedication never goes unnoticed.

I was impressed with the support provided by the Terrace Family. The audience danced, cheered, and laughed, giving the cast a standing ovation. I was proud to see so many Terracians take time out of their busy nights of study to support their friends and family performing in the musical. For many of those students in their final year at Terrace, I am sure the final night of the musical would have been emotional.

For those students who watched the musical, please take a step out of your comfort zone and Dare to go Beyond and congratulate these talented cast members. The power of positive affirmation with recognition doesn’t cost anything. Always be grateful for the opportunities we have been given and strive to be a better version of yourself.

Huge congratulations, and please let me know when we can meet up for some desperately needed singing lessons.
