Dean of Waterford | Mr Damien Cuddihy

With assignment drafts being returned and final submission dates coming and going the key message out of Waterford this week has been to ensure that students make a quick transition from an assignment focus to an exam focus.

It’s been a busy fortnight for Year 10 students, but we are only a few weeks away from the Easter break so we need to maintain the momentum. As usual, we have had a large number of boys involved in activities outside of the classroom this week. An old teacher of mine often said “Sport doesn’t develop character it reveals it”. Over the last two weeks we have had a number of students compete at both the GPS Swimming and most recently, the Head of the River at Wyaralong Dam. Whilst, it was great to see the Year 10 2nd and 5th Quads experience “success” on the day, I’d like to acknowledge all students involved in those programs over the past six months. The processes and character strengths that they have enhanced throughout the journey also needs to be viewed as a “success”.

Finally, many of you would be aware that we held then Lenten Fair during the week. We raised $1350 for Edmund Rice Camps on the day with Ms Black’s Tutor Group Bake Sale being the standout.
