Years 5 – 9 Mothers' High Tea

Earlier today the parents of boys in Years 5 to 9 should have received an email inviting mothers to the High Tea event to be held on 27 April in the Marquee at Victoria Park. Tickets will be $55 each (plus a $2.30 booking fee) and go on sale through the College Events page this coming Monday 19 March.

Included in the price of your ticket are bubbles on arrival, compliments of our hosts, Victoria Park, a traditional High Tea plus free entry into the pool of wonderful prizes. Victoria Park is also offering a cash bar with terrific prices on favourite beverages both during the event and afterwards for those wishing to remain a while longer.

The main prize is a fabulous package for two people to enjoy two nights of accommodation in a Deluxe Suite, including breakfast, at The Island Boutique Hotel in Surfers Paradise, along with a bottle of French champagne on arrival. Valued at over $500 and valid for a 12-month period from April, you can find a time that suits you to enjoy a wonderful short break away at this fabulous new resort just a short walking distance to the beach.

In addition to the main prize, we are offering a prize for each of the five year levels including, in no particular order:

  • $150 Blow Salon Hair & Beauty voucher;
  • $150 Voucher for the new King Street restaurant and retail precinct in Bowen Hills;
  • Susan Driver gold plated evening earrings valued at $180;
  • Foot pamper package including a $100 Nat-Sui voucher, a 60-minute aromatic foot massage from  Pho Thai Spa valued at $95 and a bottle of Piper Heidsieck Cuvee; and
  • $200 Marimekko homewares hamper from  The Modern Furniture Store.

Key dates to make a note of

  • Monday 19 March – Ticket sales go live on the College Events page from 9am. Follow this link or go straight to the College Events Page.
  • Monday 16 April – RSVP’s close.
  • Friday 27 April – Years 5-9 Mothers’ High Tea at Victoria Park from 10am.

No tables need to be organised so you can simply buy your ticket and you will be seated with other ladies in your son’s year level. We realise there are quite a few mothers that have more than one son in these grades, so we have provided an opportunity for you to nominate which level you’d like to be with when you book your ticket.

For those of you who didn’t make it last year, or are new to the school, it was a wonderful gathering of over 300 mothers and the term #friendraising was certainly the theme of the day. I am confident that this event will once more be a sell out as a result, so be sure to get in early to purchase your ticket. It would be a shame to miss out.

Tennyson Canteen

Thank you to the parents who have assisted behind the counter in both the canteen and the BBQ pit for the Cricket game days so far. All help is greatly appreciated. Sometimes we run quite short of helpers later in the mornings and into the afternoons. If you could manage some time to help out we would be very grateful. Of course, homebake as always warmly received.
