Public Speaking  - Rostrum

If your son is interested in competing in the Rostrum Voice of Youth competition, please email Mr Adrian Pauley for information.  This great activity has given a springboard for many Terrace Public Speakers to succeed.

We Will Rock You

Rehearsals are firing along and the excitement is building. To help us plan and to help all of our staff we ask that if your son is unable to attend rehearsal, it is important he sends an email with 24 hours notice.  We also ask that you first question yourself re your absence as the choreographers are finding it very hard to choreograph an ever changing amount of cast members on stage. We are now in to the second half of rehearsals and commitment is now of the utmost importance.

Students in these year levels will meet outside the GT125 Theatre at 3.30pm to be ready to depart by 3.45pm. Students should be dressed in their white shirts (and blazers for Year 8s) before we depart on the bus. Please note that there will not be a returning bus and students will need to be collected by their parents from Churchie.

A reminder to students in Years 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12 that you should be wearing your blazers for your debate.

Looking ahead

Next week, we have our last round of GPS Debating against Brisbane State High School. As part of the centenary celebrations for GPS, this round will be our centenary celebrations for GPS Debating at Terrace. We would love to see all GPS Debaters attend to celebrate this evening and support all of our teams.

Support Group Meetings

Part of the success of our Cultural activities can be traced to our support groups.  If you would like to be involved, meetings are outlined in the College calendar and on the App.

Debating Support Group – Tuesday 17 April, 5.30pm in the Founders’ Room
DSGPresident@terrace.qld.edu.au

Terrace Performing Arts – Tuesday 17 April, 5.30pm in the Callan Centre
TPAPresident@terrace.qld.edu.au

Staying in touch

With so much information to absorb at the start of the year, it can become quite overwhelming.  To keep in touch with all things Cultural, we would suggest you download the Terrace App and follow us on Twitter (@GTCulture) to ensure you don’t miss anything.
