The Weekly Wrap

Football

Terrace Football had a very successful round away against Brisbane Boys’ College, as well as in supplementary fixtures in Round 3. We won 32 games, drew six and lost four. The 7A side bounced back from a tough start to the season with a 5-0 win, while the 3rd XI came from behind to finish with a 3-3 draw. Our primary boys all went without a loss this weekend and showed incredible character throughout the day.

The 1st XI tried their best to play their own style against a physical BBC side. It is hard to not be lured into the opposition’s battle mode due to the intensity of their competitiveness. However, in a short season, every game is crucial. The first score came well into the first half, with Aaron Dempsey drawing a foul in the penalty box, which was converted by Will Dent. BBC equalised after halftime, before Terrace increased their intensity, and after many unsuccessful chances, Will Dent soared above the pack to nail a header into the back net. We look forward to another tough game against TGS in Round 4.

Congratulations to all teams who played supplementary games at Tennyson, all matches were played in good spirit and the performances were strong. The 11Es, 7Es and 10Es all managed to score six goals each and record some impressive victories.

Gymnastics

On Saturday 8 May Brisbane Boys' College Gymnastics hosted the first Foundation Cup lead up meet.

It was a wonderful afternoon, with many Terrace athletes competing for the first time against Brisbane Boys' College, The Southport School, Brisbane Grammar and Brisbane State High School.

The GT Gymnastics program continues to showcase excellent comradery with our athletes ensuring all boys competing were cheered on and their routines acknowledged.

Some outstanding efforts across the board. However, specific congratulations to Will Fletcher who finished the day second overall.

Congratulation to all the gymnasts who competed. We now focus on the second lead up meet this weekend, where we hope to improve on last weekend’s scores.

Thank you to Anton Fang and Ed Fletcher for assisting with organising athletes during the first session and continually encouraging all athletes competing throughout the day.
