TLG meeting and Open Day

Week 4 has been very busy in what has already been a busy Term 2 for the Terrace Family.  The TLG kicked off the week with our May meeting.  Those able to attend heard a very informative presentation by Ms Sonia Thorpe, a Terrace mother and an experienced educator, grief and bereavement counsellor.  Sonia shared insights she has gained through many years of experience and very helpful tips and strategies focused on helping children and young adults through the feelings associated with loss.  Sonia has kindly prepared an information sheet which we will share through the TLG folder in the Terrace Image Library pixevety - Log In, alternatively email us at tlg@terrace.qld.edu.au and we will be happy to send you a copy.  We thank Sonia for sharing her experience on a difficult subject in such a sensitive and reassuring way.

It was wonderful to witness the sea of new faces flooding through the gates of Terrace for the College Open Day on Monday afternoon.  The afternoon was an excellent opportunity for others to see all that joining the Red and Black offers to students and families.  Equally warming, was the flurry of activity beforehand as students, staff and parents alike rallied to set up for prospective students and their families to sample what life at Terrace is like.

Tennyson Canteen volunteering Term 2

Thanks to those of you who kindly volunteered at the Tennyson Canteen and BBQ over the weekend, especially those who volunteered despite their boys playing at alternate venues.  This dedication is a fine example of Answering the Call

Our next home game is this Saturday 15 May.   Be sure to keep an eye out for the related Canteen and BBQ Volunteer Sign Up links that will be made available shortly.

Terralicious21' Spice it Up

Terralicious21' Spice it Up planning continues, and the committee was very excited to see event tickets and Black Raffle ticket sales launched last Thursday via the Events link in the College App.

In keeping with the Spice it Up theme, this year we are hosting a traditional catwalk fashion parade followed by a cocktail style event at the Royal Exhibition and Convention Centre – this means you do not need to worry about organising tables.

Event tickets can be purchased HERE .

There are fantastic prizes on offer thanks to our wonderful event sponsors including Spicers Retreats, McKinney’s Jewellers and Bright People.

Black Raffle Tickets can be purchased HERE .  Black Raffle Tickets are available to all for purchase, even if you are unable to attend on the day.

We have a host of other goodies generously donated by members of the extended Terrace Family that will be raffled on the day.  Follow @Terralicious_21 on Instagram for information on these additional raffle prizes and our generous sponsors.
