State Honours Ensemble Program 2021

Congratulations to Lachlan Cooper, Cormaic Dunne, James Eustance, Nate Galligan, Bernie King, Noah Litzow, Elijah Mai and Matthew Rodighiero, who have all been successful in selection for the State Honours Ensemble Middle School Program (SHEP). This program connects the finest musicians from a range of schools into various ensembles, including Wind Orchestra, String Orchestra, Guitar Ensemble and Vocal Ensemble. This program presents students with the rare opportunity to work with both national and international conductors.

Holiday workshops

The holiday break was a productive and busy time for many musicians within the Terrace Music program. Over three days, musicians from SWE, Red Thunder Drumline, Concert Band 2 and Percussion Ensemble 2 honed their skills in preparation for upcoming performances, most notably the Anzac Day March and Pep Band.

Anzac Day march

This Sunday, the Terrace Marching Band will be performing as part of this year’s Brisbane Anzac march. Due to COVID restrictions, there is a limit to the number of bands that can be part of the march. Terrace is fortunate to have been selected as one of the performing bands. The Terrace Marching Band will lead the RAAF Amberley contingent in the march commencing at approximately 10am. I warmly invite the Terrace Family to come and support the Terrace musicians as we honour the Spirit of the Anzacs.

Co-curricular Music Term 2

After an abrupt end to Term 1, I am pleased to inform the music community that the Co-curricular Music program has commenced for Term 2. This term promises to be busy and exciting with several performances and workshop opportunities. Ensembles and music lessons recommence this week. Students will receive their lesson schedule from their Music teacher.
